Michigan Massage Therapist Licensing

The Board has approved a package of regulations for massage therapist licensing. A public hearing will be held this spring, after which the regulations may be modified, if needed, and will likely go into effect by the middle of 2011. At this point, it is anticipated that massage therapists will begin receiving licenses by early 2012.

You can always check the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy website for more information.

Tonic's on the Move!

Beginning January 3, 2011, Tonic will be serving you from a new, improved location in downtown Northville:

215 E Main St, Suite 201, Northville 48167

The new studio is larger, better-appointed and, for most of you, more convenient. I am excited to be making this move and hope you will enjoy the new surroundings.

Along with a new space, I'll have new hours (see left side bar). Basically, I'll be starting earlier (Wed, Fri, Sat), staying later (Mon), and adding a day (Tues).

I hope to see you at my open house on February 16th! (See side bar for details.)

Introducing Connie Tindall,
Massage Therapist

Tonic is happy to associate with another massage therapist, Connie Tindall, who will be available some of the hours I am not. I have worked with Connie in the past and am glad she has agreed to share my new space. Connie is dedicated and passionate about massage therapy, working part-time as a therapist in addition to her full-time job as the Senior Lab Technologist at the Transfusion Medicine Division at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Connie will be starting in February. Information on how to contact her will be at the new studio and on the Tonic website. You can meet Connie at the open house on February 16th!

Shaklee Products Now Available

During our sessions, many clients discuss their health-related concerns. I share with them any information I have about nutrition, exercise, etc., that might help. With more information and options, clients are able to make better decisions.

Recently, I started using Shaklee products and have been very impressed with their quality and effectiveness. I am also impressed with Shaklee's strong commitment to environmental protection. Because I have personally experienced benefits from Shaklee products, I would like to make them available to you, adding them to the information and options I share. The best way for me to do this is to become an Independent Distributor of Shaklee products, so that's what I've done. If you decide you would like to try any Shaklee product, I can help you get it.

In time, I will make more specific information about Shaklee available at my studio and through this newsletter. For now, I invite you to visit my Shaklee website to see and learn about the wide range of products Shaklee has to offer.

New Beginnings

The New Year is often a time for individuals to commit (or re-commit) to life-improving changes. A new diet, exercise program, or other lifestyle change will hopefully put us in a better place. Many times these improvements are short-lived; our intentions are good, but our willpower suffers. When that happens, support from others can help us keep the promises we've made to ourselves.

Committing to regular massage therapy sessions as part of an overall commitment to better health is common among my clients. But sometimes this commitment is difficult to maintain! I can make it easier for you by sending reminders when you've gotten off track. I can also check in with you about your other lifestyle improvements to provide a little nudge of encouragement, if that's what you'd like. Simply let me know you'd like my support in your effort to improve your overall health. I am happy to oblige!

Wishing you a healthy, happy 2011!!
